Wrench It Up > Academy > DIY > Hose Bib Replacement – Quick And Easy
Replacing a hose bib can seem like an intimidating task, but it does not have to be. Here are some quick and easy steps you can take to get the job done right in no time.
First, shut off the water supply to the hose bib by turning off the main shut-off valve that is connected to the house or building. This will prevent any water from running out when you are working on the hose bib.
Next, remove the old hose bib by unscrewing it from its housing using a pair of pliers or an adjustable wrench. Carefully take the old hose bib off the wall and set it aside.
Now, take your new hose bib and place it into the housing where you removed the old one. Make sure that it is securely in place. Use either an adjustable wrench or a pair of pliers to screw it in and tighten it up.
Finally, turn the water supply back on so you can test out your new hose bib. Once it passes the test, you are all set!
Replacing a hose bib does not have to be a stressful task. Follow these simple steps and you will have your new one installed in no time! Just make sure that you turn off the water supply before beginning this process to ensure your safety and avoid any unnecessary mess.
